  • Kia ora koutou, It is with heartfelt appreciation that our long-standing Doctor and Director, Dr Ewan Adam, will be concluding his time with Murihiku Medical Services. Throughout his career, he has deeply valued the trust placed in him and the meaningful relationships he has built within our community.

  • Kia oraAll blood test results completed through Murihiku Medical Services are reviewed by a clinician once received. If your results show no new concerns and no further action is required, you may not be contacted directly. If follow-up, repeat testing, or further discussion is needed, a member of our team will contact you. Patients are also welcome to access their results through the patient portal where available or book an appointment with your doctor. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Appointment Information

Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive late, the doctor may not be able to see you, and this may result in a Did Not Attend (DNA) fee being charged.

Standard GP appointments are 15 minutes long and are intended for one health concern only. To ensure your doctor has enough time to provide safe and thorough care, please limit your appointment to one issue.

If you have multiple concerns or require additional time, please book a double appointment when making your booking. Double appointments incur an additional charge but allow sufficient time to discuss multiple health matters.

If you are unsure about the type of appointment you need, please speak with our reception team when booking.

  • Kia Ora Murihiku Medical Services-Whanau, please note that we will NO longer be processing health insurance claims on your behalf for:
consultations or prescription requests. You will now be required to make payment directly to the clinic and then submit your claim to your own: Health Insurance Provider.

  • Plan Ahead for Your Future Health Care

At Murihiku Medical Services, we encourage our patients to consider creating an Advance Care Plan.

Advance Care Planning is a process that helps you think about, discuss, and record what is important to you regarding your future health care. It gives you the opportunity to share your values, preferences, and wishes with your whānau and health care team, so they understand what matters most to you if there comes a time when you are unable to make decisions for yourself.

    An Advance Care Plan can:

    • Help ensure your health care preferences are known and respected.

    • Support your whānau and loved ones in making decisions on your behalf.

    • Reduce uncertainty and stress during difficult times.

    • Give you greater peace of mind by planning ahead.

    Free Advance Care Planning Appointments

To support you through this process, Murihiku Medical Services offers free Advance Care Planning appointments with Debbie, our Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP).

Debbie can guide you through the conversation, help you explore your options, and assist you in documenting your wishes in a way that is meaningful to you.
